Vinegar As A Limited Cleaner And The Non-toxic Alternatives
Feb 11th, 2008 by admin
Vinegar has been touted as the only non-toxic, environmentally friendly all-purpose cleaner. However, it has its limits. You can definitely wash windows, remove stains, do the laundry, cut grease, kill weeds and other things.
However, it is also strong in odour, which is something most people will admit that they would like to find something else that can do the work of Vinegar, but also be safe and environmentally friendly.
Some of things that’s not recommended with vinegar are:
- Using vinegar in a lake. It might not be a good idea to increase the pH acidity levels in a lake, especially with water life being present. Freshwater fish can have problems with their gills when they ingest vinegar.
- It’s not a good idea to use Vinegar on the metal contacts of a car battery.
- You can’t totally scour a lot of things without heating them up first. Some you can, some you can’t.
- Try to be careful using Vinegar in an automatic Dishwasher. Not recommended.
- It can act as a temporary mosquito repellent, but it can also affect your skin’s pH levels.
- it can almost bleach coins if it is not carefully monitored in cleaning
- Don’t think about cleaning your records or CDs with them unless you’d like to take the risk.
- When you wash your dishes with Vinegar, you may want to do a second wash, just to remove the smell.
- You would have to use Vinegar full strength, which can eventually burn a hole in your wallet in the long run.
There are other ways you can use Vinegar to clean, but it is limit less than 200 ways.
Nature’s best cleaner is still water, but in order to make it powerful, it should go hand in hand with an enzyme-based cleaner. Vinegar is an acid and will dilute in water (it still will make it acidic, but it does lose it’s power.)
One particular cleaner I mention in my e-book is called Get Clean’s Basic H2 and how to use it. It has more than 1001 uses and can do more than what Vinegar is capable of. The best part is that it is odourless and very economical. All you need is water and 1-2 drops of Basic H2 and you’re all set.
The best part about Basic H2 is its safeness. You can literally take a bath with it.
With Vinegar, when you take a bath in it, you become pickled. Don’t believe me? Have you heard of pickled Pigs Feet?
Vinegar does have its place in the environmentally friendly cleaner arena, but if you can keep an open mind, you’ll discover that there’s another way(s)
